Spring

Spring is my favorite season.  Here are some of my reasons why, adjusted to life in Germany.
(Click on the photos to make them larger.)

Strawberries and Spargel (asparagus)

I love strawberries, so this is a wonderful time of year for me.  I've been going to the local market and picked up these strawberries there, plus white asparagus, which is a very popular vegetable this time of year in Germany.
Strawberries and asparagus are I believe the most popular local foods this time of year.  When it's not market day, you can find other stands around, like this one which popped up in the square nearest to me:

White asparagus is more common than green.  It's kept white by being grown mainly underground and covered up.  I'm pretty sure this is a picture of an asparagus field that I went by on train.

Flowers

I love the lightness of blooming trees.  Lilac bushes line pathways in the parks and Schrebergärten (these little garden plots you can rent) are full of blossoming fruit trees.
In the woods, there are wildflowers everywhere.  However, even fields and yards are full of flowers - no pristine green lawns here!

I also love the rapeseed oil fields which are all over the countryside.  It's such a bright color of yellow!  Here's one near the Harz mountains, and you can see another one near the asparagus field above too.
